Global Hitchhiker was conceived by our founder Vic Loh. Vic owns a formula 1 racing company and continually ships cars, parts, boats and many other things. Finding a shipper meant going through a broker. He listened to the truckers complain about the huge brokers fees and thought of better way. An online database where people can post their shipping needs and carriers can post where they are going and what they can carry. Match the two and eliminate the middle-man.

People want to go places too. People going somewhere want company and someone to help pay for the trip. Another section for people was added.

Friends were putting together a vacation trip and needed 3 more people go get a much better rate. How do you find those 3 people? After everyone called their friends, family and church groups the need for an online database became obvious. The Events section was born.
